G, September 25, 1862; as second lieutenant, March 1, 1863; as first lieutenant, March 18, 1863; as captain, Co. I, November 1, 1863; wounded in action, July 20, 1864, at Peach Tree Creek, Ga.; discharged for disability, January 4, 1865.
Commissioned second lieutenant, March 12, 1863, with rank from January 11, 1863, vice K.M. Scott promoted; first lieutenant, May 21, 1863, with rank from March 17, 1863, vice Orange Sackett, Jr. promoted; captain, August 28, 1863, with rank from May 21, 1863, vice H. L. Arnold promoted.

The new G.A.R. Post at Geneseo has been named in honor of A. A. Curtis, a gallant captain in the 136th Infantry, who died in 1867 while holding the office of county clerk.
