STATESBORO -- Ernestine Prescott Chandler, 92, died May 9 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native of Charlton County lived in Statesboro the past 53 years. She was a teacher and garden supervisor in Charlton County and a homemaker. She was co-owner of Chandler Sales Inc. She was a former member of Jolly Club, Home Demonstration Club and several other organizations. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and Cora Williams Circle. She was the widow of Willie Hendricks Chandler.

SURVIVORS: a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Ken Smallwood of Calhoun; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Chandler of Colonel's Island and Charles and Pat Chandler of Statesboro; a sister, Sally P. Beale of Danville, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Edd and Elise Prescott of St. Simons Island; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 25 nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: 5 p.m. Saturday at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, burial in Eastside Cemetery.
