A son of the late Herbert and Lettie Smith Collier, he was born on Oct. 31, 1928 in Virginia.
Mr. Collier served in the U.S. Army.
On Dec. 18, 1954, he married Nellie L. Collier, who survives. also surviving are two children, Anthony L. Collier and wife, Sandra K. of Shenandoah, Annetta L. Hensley of Shenandoah; three granddaughters, Jennifer Eppard and husband, Carl, Autumn Lucas and husband, Craig, Tiffany Kite and husband, Timmy; two great-grandsons, Dakota Hensley and Trent Kite; two brothers, Elbert Collier of Stanardsville and Dallas Collier of Ruckersville and four sisters, Mabel Shifflett and Dolly Morris, both of Stanardsville, Hildred Lam of Earlysville and Dorcas Dotson of Madison. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
