FELHABER, Arlene (nee Moss) Passed away peacefully of heart failure, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, at St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Felhaber (2010). Dearly loved mother of J. Paul Felhaber and his wife Ruth, Ruth Abraham and her husband Gordon, Lois Raats and her husband Dan. Cherished Nana of Luke (Karen), David (Chantel), Tim (Cheryl), Mark (Chandra), Elizabeth (Scott), Jonathon (Ashlee), Nicholas (Delia) and Philip. Great-grandmother of Samuel, Abigail, Juliette, Amelia, Ewan, Willow, Flynn, Sydney and William. Dear sister of John Moss (Val) of Australia, and beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Milton and Verna Moss, and sisters Shirley Snider, Mary Neal and infant Barbara. Arlene's passion and purpose was to serve her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, and her community with special gifts of hospitality, generosity, mentoring, and care-giving. She was a person who quietly "walked the talk" and supported others behind the scenes. Arlene shared her husband Eugene's passion for missions, traveling the world to share the good news of God's love. Her daily prayers for her family and her international circle of friends and acquaintances have had an immeasurable positive impact on our world. All who knew her greatly appreciated Arlene's natural ability to pull together a delicious meal at the drop of a hat, and turn any environment into a place of beauty and peace. In 2008, Arlene celebrated along with her nursing friends the 60th anniversary of their graduation from K-W (now Grand River) Hospital. To the very end of her life, Arlene would light up in the presence of other people, and they invariably responded in kind. All her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her and couldn't wait to spend time with her. The influence of Arlene's nurturing love and strong faith has continued to the fourth generation. Arlene's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 10-10:45 a.m. on Thursday at Grandview Baptist Church, 250 Old Chicopee Drive, Kitchener. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church, immediately followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons International or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff at Emmanuel Village, the helpful doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, and the dedicated and nurturing caregiver team at Warm Embrace Eldercare.
