Mrs. Mary Clarke Farris, wife of John R. Farris, died at the Central House Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. The deceased was a daughter of R. C. Engleman, of Lincoln county, and a very accomplished lady. She had been an invalid for a long time but only violently ill about a week. The funeral occurred Thursday evening at the family burying ground in Lincoln county, on the farm where D. N. Prewit now lives.
