FLORENCE MARY MARKISICH
Funeral services and a parish rosary for Florence Mary Markisich were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1999 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk St., Rock Springs. The Rev. John Savio officiated. Interment was in the Mountain View section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Markisich, 85, of 50 East 9000 South, Sandy, Utah, died Monday, May 10, 1999 at the Sandy Regional Resthome. She had been a resident of Sandy for the past eight years.
Mrs. Markisich was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Laporte, Ind., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Geneva Lillian Cashmer Gunyan. She attended schools in Rock Springs.
She married George Markisich Sr. in Rock Springs on Dec. 16, 1932.
Mrs. Markisich was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George and Shirlene Markisich Jr. of Bluffdale, Utah; three daughters, Geneva Lillian Powell of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Veronica Mary Trujillo of West Jordan, Utah, and Mrs. Joseph (Lila Darlene) Martinez of Chinook, Mont.; three brothers, Jack and wife Janet and Ronald and wife Rosetta Gunyan, both of Rock Springs,, and Robert and wife Ruth Gunyan of Mt. Rainer, Wash.; two sisters, Eileen Washam and Lita Kettering, both of Rock Springs; 19 grandchildren; 50 greatpgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several brothers and sisters.
