She attended and graduated from Melrose High School in Melrose, Mass. She then graduated from Tufts University in Boston, with a degree in occupational therapy.
Dorothy met and married Richard B. Beckler in 1951 in East Harpswell; he passed away in 1961. She spent many years as an occupational therapist in the Waterville/Skowhegan area. She also spent many years as a homemaker, raising her three children.
She was an active member at First Congregational Church in Norridgewock and an active member in the Norridgewock community events. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, arts, crafts, reading, walking and spending time with people.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Beckler and wife Barbara of Norridgewock, Karen Beckler and husband Dana Googins of Dayton, and Paul Beckler of Norridgewock; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister, Mary Bacall; and two brothers, George Swift and Raymond Swift.
