Ann Sorisso Hernandez, 96, passed away September 14, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital with her loving family at her side. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Holy Rosary Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Sebbeto Funeral Home where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. The family request no flowers. Ann grew up in Kansas City, Mo., with her parents and six brothers, three older, three younger. As a result, she developed exceptional athletic talents in softball and bowling. She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 25 years. Ann was a loving wife and mother, caring Nana and Mama Nana, and the heart and soul of her family. She was lively, quick-witted, well-informed individual who was a circle of strength and love for her family. Many will remember her "Sugo" Sundays and she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Hernandez, son, Jim Hernandez and brothers, Tom, Fred, Victor, Joe and Paul Sorisso. Ann is survived by her children, Mary Ann Rangel (Genaro), Victoria Luttrell, Salvatore Hernandez, 31 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
