John Partin was the son of Hightower Partin (1792-1876) & young second wife, Mary Thompson (1848-1904).

John Partin married Arah Warren (1845-1925)in Lincoln Co., Tenn. on August 13, 1889. They had no children.

John Partin was the younger brother of General Forest Partin. The Partin brothers married older Warren sisters, both daughters of William Warren (1817-1900) and Moriah Elizabeth "Betsy" Burns (c1820-1860/70).

The Partin brothers had a younger sister, Mary Frances "Fannie" Partin, who married Lewis Edward Graves on Dec. 29, 1884 in Giles Co., Tenn. "Fannie" and Lewis had two sons, James Albert Graves and William Edgar Graves. "Fannie" died before April 1890.

John Partin was living with his nephew, William Forest Pardon, and family when he died in Sept. 1930.

John Partin's place of burial at Bradshaw-Center Point Cemetery is marked by a simple fieldstone.
