Frank W Ames was the son of George Washington & Lucy A Webster Ames. He married Ethel Lavina Casto, daughter of Jessie & Emmily Casto. Their children were Mina Hazel, Olive Katurah, Franklin L, Ethelema, & Evelyn V Ames.

The Ames family were some of the first families in what is now Maple Valley. His father, George took up claims in 1879.
