In 1909, Angie and her sister Margie, brothers, Ola, Vernon and Estell came by train with their parents to Beckham County from Kentucky. They were met at the train depot in Elk City by Sam Spradlin who took them in his wagon to their new location some six miles south of Canute. In 1911, the Marshall family moved to the Waco Star community which was about six miles southeast of Elk City. In 1915 they moved again to Spring Creek, north of Doxey, where all the children attended school. Angie and Margie later attended and graduated from Elk City High School. On June 25, 1924, at 6:00 in the evening Angie married Luther Herbert Hartman. They made their home at New Liberty, northwest of Sayre. Mr. Hartman purchased the Caldwell store. The Hartmans owned and operated the L.H. Hartman General Merchandise Store until 1942. After closing the store Luther and Angie engaged in farming and ranching for many years. She was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.
The funeral will be announced in the next edition of the paper. Services are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre. Survivors include two daughters, Fay Vernon and her husband Hubert of Sayre, Mary Kathryn Burch and her husband Donald of Sayre; three sons, Herbert and Glenna of Sayre, Marshall and Dorothy Jean of Sayre, Roy and Maxine of Gainsville, Texas; one sister, Margie Monahan of Sayre; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
