Morton Richard "Rick" Melcer, age 66, of Brady, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, in Brady. He was born on Dec. 23, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to David M. Melcer and Emma (Goldin) Melcer. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School and Texas A&M University (66).

He married Annette Stoepler on April 27, 1981, in Plano, Texas. Rick was an enrolled agent and owned Rick Melcer Associates in Brady for over 20 years. He was a member Congregation Beth Israel of San Angelo, the V.F.W. Post #3234 in Brady, the National Association of Enrolled Agents and he was past secretary of the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents. He was also a member of the Brady Lions Club for many years. Rick was very involved with the "Ham Radio" (his call number was N5KAO) and the McCulloch County Emergency Management. He has served as assistant coordinator of McCulloch County Emergency for several years.

Graveside service with military honors for Rick Melcer will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may sign the memorial guest book online at leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Rick is survived by his wife, Annette, of the home; sons Justin Melcer of Dayton, Cody Doyle Melcer of Waco; daughters Felicia Lynn Rogers and husband Phil of Flower Mound, Jennifer England and husband Gary of Allen, Amanda Dawn Razani and husband Shawn of San Angelo; grandchildren Sarah Rogers, Rachel Rogers, Alyssa Rogers, Garrison England, Savanna Leah Razani and Vincent Razani. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
