Chaffee - Funeral service for Mrs. Gladys Irene Shackles of Chaffee will be held today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. Burial will be in the Union Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Shackles, 82 years old, died Friday at Chaffee General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 4, 1905, at Greenville, the daughter of George Francis and Margaret Ann Brewer Bailey. She and William Leonard Shackles were married Sept. 4, 1922. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here, and of the UTU Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Bailey Shackles; a daughter, Susie McFerron; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
