On April 4-1875 he married Almira Sweet in Howell, Michigan. They lived in Ingham County, Michigan.
On September 17,1876 she died during childbirth of their daughter, Ella. Ella died 21 days later.
On February 18,1878 he married Miss Eva Pratt of Conway.
He was 7 years her senior.
1880 Census shows them living in Ingham Township, Michigan.
1890 Census shows them still in Ingham Township with the following children.

Alonzo's obituary only mentions Leonard and Orlena. Both still living with him and Eva. Bertha Hendee died October 1907 while working in Detroit of Typhoid Fever.
