Funeral services for Marian L. Guy were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk St., Rock Springs. The Rev. Jeanny House conducted the services. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
Guy, 82, of 1325 Sage St., Rock Springs, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997 at the Sage View Care Center in Rock Springs where she had been a patient for the past several years.
A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, she had been in ill health for the past several years.
She was born July 4, 1915 in Rock Springs, the daughter of the late Gavin and Lena Kuchma Guy. She attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1933. She later attended the University of Wyoming and obtained her associate of teaching degree.
She married James H. Groutage in Salt Lake City Sept. 17, 1947 and they later divorced. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1990.
She was a retired teacher who worked at Yellowstone and Washington schools in Rock Springs for several years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Olga Groutage of Rock Springs.
In addition to her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by one cousin, Isabelle Huling.
