He and his wife, Anna were the parents of Verla Haigh Parker, who was born 27 Feb 1893 in Marshallton, New Castle County, Delaware and Joseph William Haigh, who was born 25 Sep 1902 in Kiamensi, New Castle County, Delaware. Verla is buried with her husband in Silverbrook Cemetery.

George served as a Firefighter with the Cranston Heights Fire Company Station 14 in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.
George was killed fighting a house fire in the neighborhood of Brookland Terrace.
