Malvern Leader, June 3, 1954:

"George Richardson, 84, long time resident of Fremont County, passed away in Tabor early Sunday evening after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Reeves Funeral Home with the Rev. William Lee and Elder Charles Fry officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Lisle Weaherhead, accompanied by Blanche Dalton.

Pallbearers were John Omer, Clarence Burwell, Wayne Rhode, J. C. Kearns, Richard Kearns and Leonard Johnson. In charge of flowers were Alice Omer, Mrs. Wayne Rhode, Mrs. J. C. Kearns, Mrs. Richard Kearns and Mrs. Logan Hemmer.

George Edward Richardson was born on Oct. 26, 1869 at Wabash, Ind., the son of Jasper and Melissa Richardson. He came to the Thurman vicinity at the age of 14.

On March 22, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Etta Ross. To this union were born a son, Wayne of Independence, MO., and a daughter, Madge Johnson of Tabor with whom he made his home.

He is survived also by four grandchildren, Mrs. Frank Zang and Maynard Richardson of Independence, MO., and Mrs. Ralph Jobe and Randall Johnson of Tabor. There are nine great grandchildren."
