Edward came to the United States as a small boy with his family. He was approximately four years old at the time. The family sailed on the "Canada" going from Liverpool, England, arriving Portland, Maine 4 Mar 1904. Edward grew up in Saco and Biddeford, York County, Maine.

Edward had nine siblings; however, only one brother, Norman lived to adulthood.

In 1923, Edward moves to Worcester, Massachusetts. He landed a job as an operative.

In 1925, Edward returns to Biddeford to marry Elsie M. Beane. They married 13 Sep 1925 in Biddeford, York County, Maine. For many years, Edward and Elsie made their home in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. Edward and Elsie had the following children: Edward, Patricia, Paul, and Samuel.

During his career, Edward worked as a motor tester for Westinghouse, a mechanic, and an assembler for SET Co.

In the late 1940's (about 1948), Edward and Elsie moved to a home on Stebbins Road, Monson, Hampden County, Massachusetts. Edward found work as the manager of the Strand Theater.

As late as 1963, Edward can be found in city directories living at his Stebbins Road home.
