An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on September 10, 1914 for Mrs. Amelia Jane Waggoner, stated that she had died at her home Friday [September 4, 1914]. Mrs. Amelia Jane Waggoner was one of 12 children of Captain and Mrs. Edward Roessler, and was born in Rose township, June 23, 1863. On October 17, 1833, she was joined in marriage with Edward C. Waggoner. Eleven children were born to this union, two of whom died in early infancy. Surviving were the husband, children, five brothers and four sisters. The children were Mabel G., now Mrs. A. P. Pauschert of Nokomis; Edward R., Shelbyville; Nita A., a nurse in Chicago; Charles W., Floyd R., Clara M., G. Raymond, Carl N. and Rose L. Waggoner, all of Shelbyville.
