ROCK SPRINGS - A Memorial Mass for Rock Springs resident Anthony P. "Andy" Legerski, 82, will be celebrated at noon Saturday, March 4, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs. Cremation will have taken place.

A military graveside service and inurnment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service-time at the church.

A memorial rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today, March 3, at the church.

He died March 1, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, from a sudden illness brought on by the effects of Parkinson's Disease.

Born June 11, 1923, in Kooi, he was the son of Anna (Roman) and Michael F. Legerski; was educated in Superior; and graduated from Superior High School in 1941.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

In 1950, he married Lola Pasquini. She preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1961.

He married Rosina M. Caserotto in Rock Springs on April 4, 1964.

An employee of FMC Corp. for 28 years, he retired as an assistant purchasing agent on Oct. 1, 1985.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin; fishing and hunting; going to Wendover, Nev.; and, especially, spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years and two sons and their wives, Paul A. and Gene Legerski, all of Rock Springs; two daughters and their husbands, Cecelia A. Jernegan of Prescott, Ariz., and Catherine A. Oehler of Tigard, Ore.; brother, John Legerski, and his wife of Rock Springs; two sisters, Josephine Ahlstrom of Sheridan and Annie Walker and her husband of Rock Springs; two sisters-in-law; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Mark Joseph and Julie J.; three brothers, Frank, Mike and Joe; two nephews; a brother-in-law; a stepdaughter, Ivy Beveridge, and her husband; his parents-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
