Mrs. Dawson Dies At 89
Mrs. Emma Catherine Dawson, 89, Leighton, Route 1, died at Colbert County Hospital at 3:35 a.m. today after a long illness.
She was a native of Lawrence County, had lived in Colbert for the past 18 years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, had been a church member most of her life.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion in Lawrence County with burial in Roden Cemetery.
The body will be at the residence from 11 a.m. Sunday until time for the service.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. G.W. Crowden, Leighton, Mrs. Ben Beavers, Sheffield, Gladys Dawson, Sheffield, and Mrs. Jack Curtain, Tuscumbia; three sons, Edward Dawson, Leighton, Robert Dawson, Courtland, Tom Dawson, Leighton; two sisters, Mrs. Wann Brahum, Town Creek, Mrs. Ace Jeffreys, Town Creek; two brothers, Dave Berryman and Bill Berryman, both of Town Creek; 40 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and six grest-great-grandchildren.
