Severina P Lang, 88, died Monday, Sept 15, at Hays Good Samaritan Center. She was born Aug 7, 1915, in Severin to August and Anna (Miller) Schmeidler.

She married John A "Johnny" Lang on May 18, 1949, in Victoria. He died July 9, 1985.


She was a homemaker and lived in Hays since 1985. She was a member of St Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, and the Hays Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include a step-son, Marvin Kraft, Emporia; three brothers, P F Schmeidler, Contonment, FL, and Edward Schmeidler and Norman Schmeidler, both of Hays; three sisters, Frances Schmeidler and Rita Schmeidler, both of Hays, and Alice Honas, Ellis; and four step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome Schmeidler and Leo Schmeidler, and a sister, Margaret Bittel.

Services were Thursday, Sept 18 at St Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, and burial was in the church cemetery. A Daughters of Isabella rosary was Wednesday, Sept 17, followed by a vigil service at Cline's Mortuary of Hays. Memorials are suggested to the church or Masses.
