Obituary for Shane Lee Green
Statesboro, Georgia
Shane Lee Green, age 12, died Sunday evening at Memorial Health in Savannah from injuries sustained in an accident. Shane was born in Bulloch County and was a 7th grade student at William James Middle School where he was a member of Ms. Joyce Smith's Class. He attended New Life Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Statesboro. Shane had a great love for the outdoors, playing in the creek, fishing and riding his motorcycle and four-wheeler. He especially enjoyed traveling to Virginia with his grandparents.
Surviving are his parents, Jackie and Brian Green of Statesboro; a sister, Tonya Ashley of Metter; two brothers, Steven Porter of Metter and Timothy Ashley of Statesboro; his paternal grandparents, Barbara and Paul Green of Statesboro and his maternal grandmother, Julia Rainey of Register. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00am at the New Life Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Statesboro with Rev. Wayne Miracle officiating.
Interment will be in the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Pete Wren, Timmy Wren, Howard Price and Brandon Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his classmates and teachers of William James Middle School.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Council for Exceptional Children, Special Olympics Fund, C/O Becki Edenfield, 150 Williams Road, Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
