~0bit~Funeral services for Imogene Sauer, 71, Independence, Iowa resident, were held Wednesday, July 24, 1985 at 1:30 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Independence. The Rev. Kenneth Mostue of the Hoover Wesleyan Church officiated. Burial was in the Hoover Circle Grove Cemetery. Pallbeares were Bill Rasmussen, Dean Hoover, Paul Bassett, Daryl Stoner, Myron Palmer and Greg Turner. A King's Daughters service was held Tuesday, July 23, at 4 p.m. at the White Funeral Home. Mrs. Sauer died Sunday, July 21, 1985 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born December 20, 1913, near Quasqueton, Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of S. Edward Hoover and Virginia McKee Hoover. She attended grade and high school in Quasqueton, Iowa. On February 14, 1934, she married arlie F. Sauer in Independence. The sauers farmed in Buchanan County until 12 years ago when they moved to Independence. She was a 35-year member of the King's Daughters Silver Cross Circle and was active in senior citizen groups. Survivors include her husband, Arlie; two sons, James of, Orlando, Florida and Kent of Alburnett, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Peggy) Turner of Miami, Florida; Mrs. Ronald Pierce and Mrs. David (Kathryn) Welton, both of Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Moore, Hazleton, Iowa; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lurah Krapf, Quasqueton, Iowa and Mrs. Ralph (Ada) Kautz, Rowley, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jerry in infancy,; one sister, Vivian; one son-in-law, David Rasmussen; four grandchildren, Barry and Doreen Rasmussen, Infant son Moore and Mary Ann Moore; one half-brother Lester Rymond Hoover and one-half sister, Doris Matilda Stoner.
