Lurah Opal Hoover was born the daughter of Samuel Edward Hoover and Virginia Menerva Evelyn McKee. They are buried in Circle Grove Cemetery. Lurah was married to Ray Ludwig Krapf on April 4, 1935 in Rowley, Iowa. They lived on a farm all their married life and she was a homemaker and raised beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens. They were parents of Ruth Jeanette Krapf who married Paul Bassett. Lurah loved her family, her home, was a true Republican and truly loved her Lord. After Ray died, Lurah sold the farm and moved to Quasqueton, Iowa and later to Independence, Iowa.

She was born on September 8, 1912, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel Edward and Virginia Evelyn (McKee) Hoover. She graduated from the Quasqueton High school with the Class of 1928. On April 4, 1935, she and Ray Ludwig Krapf were married in Rowley, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Krapf was a home maker. She was a member of the Rowley Presbyterian Church, the Farm Bureau, the Republican Party, and the Happy Hour Club.
Mrs. Krapf is survived by one daughter, Ruth J. Bassett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and l step-grand daughter. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Paul Bassett and l step-grandson, Dean Bassett. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Ada Kautz and Imogene Sauer, a half sister, Doris Matilda Stoner, and a half brother, Lester Raymond Hoover. Her funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church in Rowely. Burial was in the Troy Mills Cemetery.
