Services for Florence Raney, 77, of the La Casa Community were held at the New Hope Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bill Chaffin, former pastor now of Peculiar, MS. Mrs. Raney died following a lengthy illness.

She married Dial B. Raney on 14 May 1932 in Goldthwaite. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher and homemaker. She taught school at Frankell and the Old Union School.

Survivors; husband; two sons - Charles N. and James L.; daughter - Mrs. John "Ann" Garrell; brother - Roy V. Stark; sister - Addie C. Davis; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
