Joseph Foos, 82, Mitchell, died on Tuesday, July 31, 1990, at Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.
He was born May 30, 1908 at Roswell, SD. He married Gladys Simpson Oct. 9, 1928. She died in 1973.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Jo Wolfe, Burleson, Texas; a son, Benjamin; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Ann Searl, DePue, Ill.; and a brother, Peter Foos, Salem.

Joseph was a descendant of Christian's first marriage and Gladys was a descendant from Christian's second marriage.
Gladys' mother (Mary Catherine Kern) and Joseph's grandmother (Sophia Kern) were half sisters.
