He was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Marytown, a son of Anton and Juliana Mueller Wendel. On Jan. 19, 1938, he married Martha Schram at St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Spring Valley.
Mr. Wendel attended schools in the Marytown area, and was employed as a machinist for the Lausen Engine Division of Tecumseh Products Co. at New Holstein. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife: one son. Glenn of New Holstein ; four daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Anna Mae) Stemper. Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Schneider, and Mrs. Tom (Joan) Hess, all of New Holstein, and Miss Lois Wendel of Sheboygan Falls; and one sister, Mrs. Henry Schneider of Cleveland, Wis.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home in New Holstein, to Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services.
