Anna Katharina/Catherine Heil was born c. 1816/17 in the Parrish of Schlitz, Lauterbach, Hesse, Germany, the daughter of Johan Wilhelm Heil, who was a Master Linen Weaver, and Anna Katharina (Pfisterling) Heil, who was born c. 1793 in Hesse-Darmstadt.

Anna Katharina/Catherine Heil was married to Johan George Valentin Mohr c. June 2, 1842 in Schlitz, Hesse, Germany. Johan George Valentin Mohr was born c. May 31, 1819, the son of Johan George Mohr, the County Steward, who was born c. July 9, 1788 inSchlitz, Lauterbach, Hessen, Germany, and Anna Elizabetha (Wohlgemuth) Mohr.

Johan and Anna were the parents of at least six children children;
1. Johannes Mohr, born in 1840 in Schlitz, Hesse, Germany.

2. Phillip Mohr, born in 1844 in Schlitz, Hesse, Germany.

3. Christian Karl Mohr, born in 1846

4. Heinrich (Henry) Mohr, born in 1850 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.

5. George Mohr, born in 1854 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.

6. Konrad/Conrad Mohr, born in 1856 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.

Johan George Valentin Mohr and his wife Anna Catherine (Heil) Mohr came to American with their children from Europe about 1862.
There is little doubt that Catherine died on December 7, 1906. It was decided that her age at the time of her death was 89 years, 8 months and 12 days. This is all on her tombstone. If her age was correct, then her date of birth was March 25, 1817.
However, Lawrence Mohr (FAG Contributor #50034544) found a birth and baptism record on familysearch.com for a Catherine Mohr born on May 5, 1816. Lawrence states that "Katherine's parents are identified on her marriage record to Georg Valentin Mohr in Schlitz. She was the oldest daughter of Wilhelm Heil and Katharina Pfisterling. It's also important to focus searches for records in the area near Schlitz. Many records prove that is where the Mohr family came from, including the obituary of my great grandfather, Christian."
Lawrence continued, "Based on this information, the only matching baptism record is one that is dated 5 May 1816 / 12 May 1816. I'm aware this marriage record isn't available online. Herbert D. Mohr and Joanne Lowery obtained its transcription during a visit to Schlitz during the 1990's and were guided by their cousin and resident of Schlitz, Dieter Mohr. I posted an image of this transcription on WikiTree because this record is not available online: https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Mohr-1322-1."

So it appears that though for years Catherine's birth was apparently celebrated in March, she may actually have been born in May.

The only time I find the Mohr's in the census record is in 1870, when the Mohr's are found in Milan Township, DeKalb County, Illinois;
George More 57 Farmer Hesse Darmstadt
Catherine More 55 Keeping House Hesse Darmstadt
Henry More 20 Hesse Darmstadt
George More 16 Hesse Darmstadt
Conrad More 14 Hesse Darmstadt
