Mr. Anthony "Tony" Joseph Malnar, 96 years old of Tickfaw, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on Sunday, June 8, 1913, in Calumet, Michigan, son of the late George Paul and Antonio Malnar.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Allen Malnar and sons & daughters-in-law, George and JoAnn Malnar, Joseph "Bill" and Tena Malnar; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Fred Lally, Marilyn and Angelo Lamonte Sr., Donna and Tony Noto Jr.; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by first wife, Grace "Gene" Womack Malnar; son, Charles Malnar; daughter, Pauline Malnar; brother, John Kalich; sisters, Josephine Malnar and Mary M. Crawford.
Friends will be received Friday, November 27, 2009, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 am, with Fr. Hank Groover, O.P. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
Mr. Malnar's family would like to extend a special thanks to Fr. Hank Groover, Barry Bankston, Tammy Magee, Brenda Mathews, Rev. Leon Dunn and all the staff from Vital Hospice for all of the prayers, kindness and support they have shown during their time of need.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 16013 Halbert Ln, Hammond, LA 70403.
