Parents: Oscar V. and Hanna C. (Johnson) Carlson.

Mr. Carlson was reared and received his early education on the Carlson homestead west of Douglas. He attended Pleasant Valley country school and then came to Douglas where he graduated from Douglas High School. He ranched his entire life on the Carlson ranch.

He married Margaret Christine Fackler June 4, 1939, in Douglas. They lived on the Carlson ranch until retiring and moving into Douglas in 1984.

He is survived by two grandchildren, Carlson T. Akers of Douglas and Anita Phipps of Columbia, Missouri; his sister, Martha Thompson of Lusk; former son-in-law, George Akers and his wife Lucy of Douglas; and one great-grandson, John Tyler Akers of Douglas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Margaret on Sept. 19, 1987; and his daughter, Martha Elaine "Martie" Akers on June 1, 1979.
