She was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Cameron County, daughter of George A. and Leola G. Jordan Johnson.
She married Ralph V. Amacher, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1998.
She had resided in Ridgway for most of her life. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Christ, and the Idlers Club. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Pauline Bowers (Bill), Barbara Amacher, and Henry Amacher (Chris) all of Ridgway; four grandchildren, Katie Bowers, Billy Bowers, Charlie Bowers and Amy Klawuhn, and by three great grandchildren, Skylar Bowers, Ralph Benson, and Faith Bowers.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Bates.
Funeral Services for Janet Amacher will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in a Ridgway Funeral Home, with Rev. Craig Duffield, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church, officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday morning for two hours 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp., 120 N. Broad Street, Ridgway, PA 15857.
