James W. Elliott

ALBANY — The funeral service of James "Jim" E. Elliott , 78, of 153 Wolf's Thick Road, Cordele, GA, formerly of Albany, who died Wednesday, October 4, 2006, will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. William H. Sims III will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Dahlonega, GA, Mr. Elliott had resided in Albany since 1962 before moving to Cordele five years ago. He was the owner of Albany Crane Rental Company and was of the Methodist Faith. Mr. Elliott attended North Georgia College and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marine. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1285 and was a former member of Benevolent Protective Order of The Elks #713.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Elliott of Cordele; four sons, Mark Elliott and his wife, Beth of Alpharetta, Steven Elliott of Coleman, David Elliott of Cordele and Don Elliott of Daphne, AL; three sisters, Lillouise Perkins of Buford, Frances Allison of Gainesville, FL, and Mozelle Shook of Dahlonega; ten grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
