She was born 19 Jul 1930 in Wayne Co., W.Va. Died 13 Aug 1999 in Rushville, Fairfield Co., Ohio, where she and her husband lived with their son Mark. Maple Grove Cem., Lancaster, Fairfield Co., Ohio.

Lancaster [Ohio] Eagle-Gazette, 14 Aug 1999: Jewell [M.] Adkins, 69, Rushville, passed away Fri., Aug. 13, 1999 at her residence.

She was a member of the Reimer Road Church in Wadsworth.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Adkins; daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Gary Meglich, Anita Tenney and Sheila Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Brenda Adkins; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jerry Evans; sisters, Brookie Maynard, Ollie Blankinship and Polly Blankinship; brothers, Alley Perry and John Perry; half-sister, Maxine Mathis; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Evans; sister, Lorene Brown; and her parents, Ballard and Belle Perry.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leonard Hershey officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made in her memory to Hospice of Fairfield County.
