Edward L. Babbington, 80, of Boonsboro, died at the Washington County Hospital on Tuesday morning of complications after a long illness.
He was born at Harmony, son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Wise) Babbington. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Annie Gilbert, Harmony; Mrs. Mary Reese, Hagerstown; sons, William M., Roger L., both of Boonsboro; Grayson P., Chewsville; also 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro where the service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Albert R. Burkhart officiating. Interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery in Middletown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening.
