Mrs. Bessie M. Kephart, 57, wife of John T. Kephart, died at her home, 1062 W. Potomac Street, of a sudden heart attack Saturday evening.
Mrs. Kephart was born in Harmony, in Frederick County, a daughter of Edward L. Babbington, of Boonsboro, and the late Jennie (Harshman) Babbington. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and father, are five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Keadle, of Mt. Aetna, Mrs. Mary Louise Gilardi, of Boonsboro, Mrs. Alice Yetter, of Clear Spring, Mrs. Helen Dalley, of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Martha Baechtell, of Hagerstown; a son, John E. Kephart, now serving with the U. S. Army in Japan; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Gilbert, of Harmony, and Mrs. Mary Reese, of Hagerstown, and three brothers, Willaim M. and Roger L. Kephart, both of Boonsboro, and Grayson P. Kephart, of Chewsville.
The body was removed to the Basl Funeral Home, Boonsboro, where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Dr. L. Boyd Hamm officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, in Middletown.
