BLUE MOUND-Modena G. Deaton, 76, of Blue Mound died 12:15 p.m. Saturday (June 27, 1998) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Stonington. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Ater-Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound, with 8 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Memorials: Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Blue Mound Memorial Library.

Mrs. Deaton was born in Atoka, Okla., on Nov. 26, 1921, the daughter of Henry an Margaret Derichsweiler Faudree. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic in Stonington,the Altar Society and Blue Mound Women's Club. She was employed by Ater-Wikoff Funeral Home. She married Edone Lee Deaton on Feb. 11, 1940, in Atoka. He preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1979.

Surviving are her son, John Deaton and wife Lila of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter, Linda Mariconi and husband Gary of Springfield; grandchildren, Angela Mariconi, Niccolina Mariconi, Marc Mariconi and Anne Mariconi, all of Springfield; Christine Adkins and husband Don of Fort Polk, La.; Matthew Deaton and wife Heather of Daytona, Fla.; John, Rebecca and William Deaton, all of Woodbridge; sisters, Kathryn Camp of Atoka; Virginia Warren of Norman, Okla.; Marcella Faudree of Atoka; several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
