Richard W. Propst, 39, of Morgantown, died unexpectedly Saturday Sept 27 at the Chestnutridge Camp Dining hall while attending his oldest daughters wedding reception. He was pronounced dead on arrival at West Virginia University Hospital due to a massive heart attack. He was born Jan 30, 1936 in Monongalia County, the eighth child of the late Earl and Alice Buchanan-Propst. He was president and co-owner of Quality Bit Corp in Morgantown. He was a member of the Morgantown Moose Lodge.
Survivors include His former wife Sonja Geiss-Propst, three children, Marlene Propst-Duda of Morgantown and Stefanie and Nancie Propst both at home. He leaves one brother Art and six sisters Lois Weaver- Josephine Tanton-Deloris Clark-Betty Nabors-Alice Burrow-Jean Nakjavani. Bill was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was preceded in death by one brother Earl Joseph Propst in 1944 who was killed in World War II.
Pallbearers will be the employees of the Quality Bit Inc.. The honorary pallbearers will be Harry Meighn, Mark Sansone, Carl Dawson, John Sabb, Don Amos, Delmar Hunter and Bob Simons.
