Aza Irene Bergh, 97, of Eau Claire passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Harbor House of Eau Claire.
Aza was born September 3, 1913 to William and Dora Ann (Edwards) Bennett in Knoxville, TN. The family moved to Wisconsin when Aza was seven years old, and resided in the Town of Seymour.
Aza was known for her cooking. She brought cookies to all her friends, family, and everywhere she did business. She was employed at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a cook. Aza loved both her family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for them.
Aza is survived by her five sons, Dick (Barbara) Bergh of International Falls, MN, Ron (Rosie) Bergh of Golden Valley, AZ, Robert (Caroline) Bergh of Hayward, WI, Romaine (Betty) Bergh of Hayward, WI and Roger Bergh of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Yvonne (Rod) Wolff of Prairie Farm, WI, and Carol (Donny) Sandberg of Durand, WI; one brother, Edward Bennett of Eau Claire; thirty-six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; daughter, Dollie Scott; grandson, Bruce Allen Bergh; ten brothers and sisters; and a special friend, Frank Dahl.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Robert Hoekstra officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Harbor House for all of their love and care.
