Herman Bouwkamp, 79, of 1117 North Ninth street died at his residence at 5:30 a.m. Sunday after a six months' illness. Born in The Netherlands in 1874 he came to the U. S. and Lafayette vicinity at the age of 18. He was married in 1899 to Fannie Brink and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last January. He was a member of Christian Reformed church and served as deacon and elder in the church for many years. Surviving besides one daughter, Mrs. Walter Vanderkleed of this city; three sons, George and Martin both of this city and Raymond of Calumet Citv. Ill one sister, Mrs. Meeuwes Kuipers, city, two half brothers, Dr. John Veldkamp and Jacobus Veldkamp, both of The Netherlands.
