J.B. Oliphant, 72, a resident of Checotah for many years, died of a heart attack in Cherryvale, Kan., last Friday, where he was visiting in the home of his brother.
Funeral services were held at the Petering Funeral home in Muskogee. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery in Checotah where last rites were conducted at the grave.
Mrs. Oliphant died last year. The only immediate survivor is a son, Glenn, of Muskogee.
