Romea C. Alford, 76, of Route 7, South Charleston, died March 14, 1988, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired operator for Union Carbide with 37 years' service. He was former chairman of Capitol Soil and Conservation. District. He was former director of Southern States Cooperative. He was trustee and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Tornado. Surviving: wife, Hazel; twin daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Pauley and Mrs. Carolyn Edwards, both of Tornado; son, Darrell of Ravenna, Ohio; sisters, Miss Mamie Alford and Mrs. Alice Childress, both of South Charleston; brother, the Rev. Herbert of Scott Depot; nine grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Casdorph-Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. Clark Bryan and the Rev. Tommy Roberts officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
