William W. (not "A") Halley was the husband of Nancy Edens and the father of numerous children, including John Wesley Halley who migrated from Henry Co., MO to Union Parish, Louisiana. His brother Jesse James Halley followed shortly afterward.

Nancy Edens died in October 1860 in Henry County, Missouri. John Wesley Halley had already married Sarah A. Rice March 24, 1859 and had left home.

The 1860 census for Henry County, Missouri lists:
William W. Halley 49 VA
Emily (dau) 23 VA
Jesse J. (son) 19 VA
Louisa W. (dau) 18 VA
William F. (son) 16 VA
David G. (son) 14 VA
Alexander B. (son) 13 VA
Martha C. (dau) 7 VA
Mary Edens (female) 63 VA

Jesse James Halley migrated to Union Parish, Louisiana to be near his brother, John Wesley Halley by 1870. John had married his second wife, Sarah Melissa Kolb by 1771.

William F. Halley remained in Missouri, dying in Benton County, Missouri where he had lived most of his adult life with his wife Eliza Martin.

David G. Halley married Louiza J. Hazell and died in Cooper County where he lived most of his married life.

Alexander Bradford Halley married Cornelia Christine Nafus and died in Bentonville, Benton County, Missouri.

Mary Elizabeth Halley married Ambrose Breedon in Kanawha Co., West Virginia before migrating with the Halley and Eden families to Henry County, Missouri. She and Ambrose Breedon died in Taney County, Missouri.

William W. Halley's name has been transcribed as "Holly" and as "William A.", which is incorrect. His tombstone clearly shows his name as Halley.
