(obit) "are held for Mrs. Jefferson
The funeral services of Mrs. Martha Jefferson, whose death was reported in this paper last week, was held Friday afternoon at 2o'clock in the Episcopal church. Rev. Simms of Livingston read the burial office and special music was furnished by Mrs. Jean Ellison and Mrs. Mildred HIggins who sang: "Rock of Ages: and "In the Garden." They were accompanied by mrs. Ethel Musgrove.
The deceased was born in Aberswald, Switzerland on August 7, 1869. She was the oldest child of Anna and Reinhardt Zehntner. The family came to America when she was nine years old. They came to Fort Benton by river boat shortly after the Civil War and took up land on Smith river. At the time there were three brothers, Carl, Reinhard and Jake Zehnter living in the neighborhood where the Clifford Olsen ranch is now situated. Martha Zehntner attended the first pulic school held at White Sulphur Springs and recalled that Henry Foster was her first teacher. There were eight children in school.

Mrs. Jefferson was the mother of four children, all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. W. D. Edwards and Louis Jefferson of White Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Lola Braley of Redondo Beach, California; Mrs. Oline Mattison of Sioux City, Iowa. Mrs. Jefferson is also survived by who brothers: Reinhardt and Ben Zehntner, both of this town. She has 14 grand children and 17 great grand children.
At the funeral services Friday the pall bearers were Tehodore Schmid, Grant Schmid, Glen Zehntner, Robert Benzie and Earl Bonine. Burial was in the Mayn cemetery."
