Frank Gilbert Hoyne was a son of Thomas and Leonora Maria Temple Hoyne. He received his education at Palmer Academy and at old Chicago University. He married Florence Ashton in Chicago on April 24, 1884. In 1889, Frank and his brother, James T. Hoyne, established the firm of Hoyne Bros. Frank later succeeded as sole owner of the business, which was confined to buying, selling, managing and renting business property and looking after estates. At the time of death, Frank had retired from the real estate business and was living in the Highland Park section of Deerfield.
He was survived by his wife and two daughters: Leonora Temple Hoyne and Helen Ashton Hoyne.
