Funeral service for Mr. Eddie D. Wills, 60, of Brenham, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18 at noon at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Kerr St, Brenham. Dr. John Harris pastor, Elijah Rogers - eulogist. Mr. Wills passed Sept. 10, 2010 at Scott & White Hospital. Burial will follow to HIC Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.

Eddie D. Wills was the second of three children born to Dorothy Lattimore and the late Rev. Henry C. Wills on Jan. 28, 1950. He was educated at Pickard High School and Brenham High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On Aug. 8,1970 he married, the love of his life Gloria Moore Wills. To this union four children were born: Edward Charles Wills, Leticia Gwynette Wills-Murphy, and twins (deceased) Akira Sharnel Wills and Bradley Levar Wills.

Deacon Eddie accepted Christ at an early age at the Rocky Chapel Baptist Church. He served his church faithfully. He had another family close to his heart, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Pack 1. His third family, Palmer and the Five Oaks Achievement Center, where he shared a lot of good times. He was also a member of the Brenham Activist Association.

Deacon Wills loved sports, coaching from the sidelines. Always giving the kids an encouraging word.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Gloria A. Wills; son Edward Wills; daughter and son-in-law Leticia and Charles Murphy of Brenham; five grandchildren, Desiree' Marquette Wills, Lakira Va'lencia Murphy, Danielle Dominque Wills, Desmond Tra'jan Murphy and Tyus Jamison Wills.

He also leaves his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Kenneth Lattimore; one brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Rebecca Lattimore; sister Ruby Britton; sister-in-laws Juanita Wills of Brenham, and Ruby Session of Fort Worth; brother-in-law and wife Bennie and Edith Cole of San Antonio; brother-in-law Johnny Bradford of Fort Worth; one godson Quincy Adams; one goddaughter Branterica Cloud; two uncles Willie Thomas and Robert Thomas of San Antonio; two aunts Liz Spencer of Houston, and Lucille Roberts of Colorado; Texas Department of Criminal Justice Pack 1; Five Oaks Achievement Center; "special nephew" Ronnie and wife Maria Cole of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
