John F. Bussard
MIDDLETOWN, Md. -- John F. Bussard, 84, of 201 S. Prospect St., died Sunday at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born near Harmony, Md., he was the son of the late David F. and Susan Blessing Bussard.
He was an assistant manager of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Hagerstown for many years. He was also a food broker. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was treasurer of the church and Sunday school.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a 50-year member of the Friendship Lodge No. 84 AF&AF of Hagerstown, Tall Cedars of Lebanon of Hagerstown, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, [?] RA Chapter No. 27 of Hagerstown, Palestine Council No. 15 R&FM of Hagerstown, St. Bernard Commandry No. 9 Knights Temple of Hagerstown, Ali Ghan of Cumberland, the Alsatia Club of Hagerstown and the Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Summers Bussard, one daughter, Mrs. Ruthana Wenzel of Frederick; one son, Dr. John W. Bussard of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Gladhill Funeral Home in Middletown Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Huldle will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery in Middletown.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9. Masonic rights will be said at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Lutheran Church in Middletown.
