James H. BASHAM

James H. BASHAM, 89, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Sharon Baptist Church, Olathe, with burial to follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe. The family suggests contributions to Hospice of Olathe Medical Center.

James was born Jan. 4, 1913, in Hamilton, MS, the son of E. L. BASHAM and Fannie SMITH. He had been living in Olathe since 1955. He retired after 30 years from the former Frisco Railroad, which is now the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a charter member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a charter member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby T. BASHAM in 1989, and an infant son, Jimmy Drummond BASHAM.

Survivors include his wife, Eva L. BASHAM of the home; a son, Bill W. BASHAM of Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren, Tracy GALLEGOS, Steve BASHAM, Randy BASHAM, Lori SCHRAEDER, Tim GREEN, Terry GREEN and Leslie GREEN; nine great grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
