County Clerk Angus received a letter Tuesday from John Batten of Virginia City, enclosing a post office money order for $42.65, the amount expended in caring for and burying his brother, George Batten, who recently died at the poor farm of dropsy. He also requested if any trinkets were found in possession of his brother at the time of his death they be forwarded to him as keepsakes for his two sons who are being cared for by Mr. Batten at Virginia City.
