JOHN LORFELD (Rep.) was elected to the assembly in 1918 by two votes, receiving 1,252 votes to 1,250 for George Rathsack (Soc.) and 1,179 for Walter Wittman (Dem.). Mr. Lorfeld was born in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc county, Jan. 25, 1867, was educated in the common schools and has been a successful farmer and thresherman for years. He has been school clerk since 1896, town chairman since 1908 and member of the board of supervisors since 1905.
